Aguilar, Ramento shine Diamond mx

Multi-titled Glenn Aguilar secured his second crown in the pro open while rising moto star Ralph Ramento
stole the pro lites spotlight in the leg 2 of the 2016 Diamond Motocross Series, Saturday at Mx Messiah
Fairgrounds (MMF)

Aguilar, 41, who was not able to attend his son Mclean’s highschool graduation dedicated his victory to him.
The 16-time Rider of the Year bagged ₱20,000.00 after he dominated twelve laps against Ramento who
savored ₱12,000.00 and placed second and third in moto 1 and 2, respectively.

 

Ramento who surpassed the neck-to-neck battle against Jepoy Rellosa, 18, in moto 2 of the prolites class
when Rellosa slip on the final lap of moto 2.

“I’m happy with my results. It felt good staying close to tito Glenn in the first moto and Enzo in the second,”
said Ramento, also an FEU Architecture student.

 

“Finally winning the Prolites after failing in the first leg was amazing. All the sacrifices and hardwork
preparing was worth it,” added the 19-year old Ramento.

Also seen in action was moto legend Jovie Saulog who just returned to motocross after recovering from a
humerus open fracture on his right arm. Saulog, dad to Janelle, settled second best in the veterans class
against titlist Jolet Jao.

 

Other winners are RJ De Leon of the Amateur open production, Roman Laurente of the Executive class,
Ompong Gabriel of the Kids 85cc, Epong Gaid of the Kids 65cc, Wenson Reyes of the Kids 50cc, Frank
Janolino of the Open underbone, Roe Bautista of the Local enduro and Jan Oliver Mercado of the MMF
Academy.

 

Local bands Firefalldown, Typecast and Imbue No Kudos graced the event while riders had a meet and
greet with their fans after the race.

 

The event supported by Diamond Motor Corporation, Wheeltek, Dunlop tires, Coffee Grounds, Xtreme
Adrenaline Sports Entertainment Co., PTT Philippines Corporation and the Municipality of Taytay will
resume its third leg on May 7.
